When Is The Right Time To Get Started

The thing that stops most people getting started is the excuse that they are not ready, they just need to learn a bit more, or to decide on a niche, or polish or tweak the project they are working on at present.
Another one is the time is not right, due to the recession nobody has any money to spend. Well, let me tell you all these are just subconscious excuses not to get started, let’s look at them one by one.
1) There will always be a reason why you are not ready and the time isn`t right, so when will it be, the simple answer is never, so just do it.
2) You need to learn a bit more, well, let me tell you that you will never know everything and you will be constantly learning new things in this ever changing market so just get on with it.
3) You need to decide on a niche. No problem just follow my training and pick one, job done. Don`t agonise over it, if you get it wrong all you have lost is a little time and you will learn valuable lessons to help you get it right next time.
4) I am working on a project that just needs tweaking. My first question to you is how long have you been tweaking it? If you are not careful you will use that as an excuse and never finish it. Just get it something like and get it out there, your customers will be the best judge of if it needs any more tweaking and do it as necessary.
5) Finally nobody has any spare cash due to the present economic climate. This is total rubbish; the current climate actually works in your favour.
As earning are squeezed and people lose their jobs, they are looking to find other ways of saving money by doing things themselves that they might have paid someone else to do previously.
Or alternatively they are looking for ways to start their own business to earn some extra full or time money. Again this is where you come in with your products to give them what they want.
Do you see all of these are excuses created by your subconscious mind to keep you within your comfort zone. Your subconscious mind, (and this is scientifically proven) is only happy in a state of flux, and is only interested in things staying the same.
As soon as you even think about moving out of your comfort zone to try something new, alarms go off in your head and chemicals are released to create fear and doubt so you will give up and return to your comfort zone so everyone can be happy again.
This is a fact, so it is not really your fault if you give up, but what you must do is fight it or nothing will ever change in your life. This is just what your subconscious wants, but it shouldn`t be what you want.
If you are not happy with your life then make a decision today to overcome your doubts and fears and get started. As you have already said there is no better time than now.

Internet marketing will be around as long as people are hungry for information. I know you can search out a lot of it yourself for free, but us humans are a lazy lot and people will always be willing to pay for someone else to do the searching and bring all the information together.

How to promote an affiliate product but still build yourself a list
Posted by: | CommentsOK, so you have decided to promote an affiliate product from the likes of Clickbank.com, and there is nothing wrong with that.
For your first venture it is the easiest option, but long term you want to develop your own products. Because with afiliate products you are actually doing all the work to build someone else a list.
You may get 75% of the sale, but the affiliate site owner gets 25% for doing nothing and you help build him a list he can promote to for years if he treats them right.
That is why an affiliate will give you up to 75% of a sale because its the list that really is more important.
The only way to get round this is to set up your own site or blog put some good content on it relevant to the offer you are promoting and create some kind of free report that enhances the product you are promoting.
Then get them to opt into your list to get the free report and then you can pass them on to the affiliate via a link in the report or email and you have the best of both worlds.
Of course this is still nowhere near as good as promoting your own products because with your own products you are building up your own reputation and keeping all of the money.
But something more important is with your own products you can recruit your own army of affiliates and get them to build you a list.
This is by far the best way to go and product creation isn’t really that hard. You can either start from scratch and create one or use someone else’s product for ideas and rewrite it perhaps making it better.
Read through it and make a list of questions you don`t feel were answered properly or not at all. Was some information missing or poorly explained. If you don`t know the answers then try google or the forums and make the product better and re-title it and make it your own.
The other route is to buy a PLR product that allows you to re-brand it and add your name as author. These are easily found by going to good old google and typing in your niche IE, Internet marketing PLR.
You will get plenty of results just take your time and read the fine print as not all PLRs are rebrandable.

Clickbank is an online market place for products that you can promote as an affiliate and get up to 75% commission for every sale you get.
Clickbank is home to hundreds of products in many niches not just internet marketing and there is bound to be something that interests you there.
I know what you are thinking why would anyone give you 75% of their profits. Well it’s because you are the one doing all the word to send them visitors known as (traffic) to their offer.
Visitors they would never have had without your efforts, so they make 25% for doing nothing and the icing on the cake is they get to capture the email addresses of the visitors and add them to their list.
Then in the future they can send offers to that list and generate sales for years to come and keep 100% of the profit, pretty clever eh. You are effectively building their list for them and earning them 25% profit to boot, and all for no work on their side.

Hello, my name is Mike Rylance, that`s me above.
I am 52 years old, I have a wife name Sue and two girls aged 19 and nearly 14.
I went to a local comprehensive school and started work at 16 with few qualifications and have never been to university.
I have been interested in ways to make extra money for most of my adult life, and I have owned my own shop, tried market trading and forex trading and betting on sports and horses. You name it I have tried it at some point.
Then just over 2 years ago I was made redundant from my job in the construction industry after more than 20 years with the same company.
This forced me to find another source of income that actually worked.
So I used my redundancy money and invested in a mentor who had already proven himself and over the last two years have started to make an income online.
I am not a guru who knows everything as I am still learning new things every day, but it`s not that long ago I was where you are now alone and confused not knowing where to start.
If cost me a great deal of money to be shown the business from my mentor, but I will try my best to help you get started without the huge investment I had to pay out.

A good way to spend a rainy Sunday

I know this is unrelated to internet marketing but I just wanted to share it with you as a possible additional way to make money and a break from the usual blog posts.
My wife, Sue works part time for something to do, only 15 hours a week in a childrens nursery. But lately the management has changed and it`s not the friendly place it used to be. She is thinking of leaving even though she loves the kids but knows she will be climbing the walls after a couple of weeks at home doing nothing.
So I saw a course advertised on selling on Ebay. Neither of us know much about selling on Ebay but I figured the best way to learn about something is to get information from someone who is already doing it and is offering to mentor us.
Anyway, I ordered the course and a week later it arrived, several manuals and some training dvds. We spent a couple of weeks going through them and yesterday as part of the training we drove 150 miles in the pouring rain to attend a live training workshop in the Midlands to see how it`s done there live in front of us.
It was a great day where we met other people more or less in the same boat as us, newbies so to speak, I hate that word.
The event was run by a big publishing company in the UK and I was amazed to see the company owner Nick Laight and his wife Helouise there supporting Amanda the lady giving the presentation and giving out helpful information.
I had a chat with them during the day and was supprised how ordinary and down to earth they both were. Anyway Nick told me the best way to start making money from home is definately Ebay, which I had not really taken seriously until now. I thought of it as just a way to make a bit of spare cash for my wife to keep her entertained during the day.
How wrong I was, Amanda the lady giving the presentation is making thousands of dollars per month on Ebay, so I have now issued a challenge to my wife to be making $2000 minimum per month by the end of the year from a standing start.
I will keep you posted on her progress for a bit of fun and who knows if she makes it I may put together a training product on how she did it.
There is nothing like attending live workshops, to network and get you fired up. It has even got me interested so I will help out when needed. That`s it for now, take care and we will speak again soon.

3 ways to get products that sell (part 2)
Posted by: | CommentsHello and welcome back to part 2 of 3 Ways to get products that sell. Lets get started with how easy it is to create your own product. Before you start to panic its really easy and if it frightens you that much you can get someone else to do it for you for peanuts.
To create your own product you need to come up with an idea and as said previously do the research to check there are people out there searching for this information and willing to spend money to get it.
Right you now need to think about what you know.
What hobbies and pass times do you have. What about your friends, family and neighbours. Do you or any of them do or know something or would like to learn about something that other people would also like to know about.
Say for example you keep a few chickens, and you would be amazed how popular keeping chickens is. You do your research that we will talk about in the next blog, and find there are roughly 3,000 searches every month out there for the keywords keeping chickens.
Right you need to sit down for half an hour or so and list everything you know or would like to know about keeping chickens. Think about the best breeds to get the most eggs, what they eat and how often, where to get it from.
How to hatch eggs and what equipment you would need, what illnesses do they suffer from and how can they be avoided. Anything you can think of and if you don’t know the answer simply google it or try youtube as it is full of useful videos on an almost unlimited amount of topics.
You then take your notes and expand on each heading and you have a book you can sell. If writing frightens you that much you can simply outsource it. Just provide all your notes and research to someone on freelancer.com or elance.com and people will bid on writing your book.
It should only cost you between $50 and $100 depending on the length of the book. You can then get an ebook cover designed for $5 at Fiverr.com
Just in case you have not heard or tried Fiverr.com it is an excellent site. You can get almost anything done for the fixed price of $5. I use it all the time to have ebook covers created, videos, back links, articles written, you name it you can almost certainly get it done there, go there now and check it out.
You can get good quality work done there for peanuts you just have to make sure your gig as they are called has at least 10 feedback comments on it and most people, preferably all of them are happy with the quality and service they got from the gig.
So there you have it, you have no excuse not to get started you can either do it all yourself or outsource it, either way it is easy to do and will get your internet business off to a flying start.

The reason building a relationship with your list is so important is because it is far easier to get someone who has got to know and trust you through your blogs and emails to buy from you than, to try and sell to a total stranger who doesn’t know or trust you.
It’s just like the start of a new TV series, at first you are not sure about it, then as the weeks go on you get to know the characters and before long you are hooked and shouting at the TV if one of them is in danger.
You can build up that kind of trust with your list of subscribers by giving them what they want and not abusing their trust. Over time they will look up to you and treat you as an expert in your niche.
They will come to you for advice and when you recommend a product that you say will help them, they will trust your judgement and buy it. If this frightens you it shouldn’t, as your knowledge grows you will be surprised at what you do know and anything you don’t just go to the forums or google it and you will usually find what you need.
Failing that, drop me an email and I will help you. Most newcomers, (newbies) as they are known in the business, a term I dislike as I think it makes the newcomer feel small and vulnerable, will most likely know far less than you, which to them makes you an expert.
What you must never do is bombard your list with sales promotion after promotion and give them nothing of value in return. Also never promote a product you have not inspected yourself to make sure it will be of value to your list.
If you promote even one bad product, your list members will punish you by unsubscribing in their droves and your reputation will be permanently damaged.
As a rule if you are driving new potential customers who do not know you to a new offer, you will find only around 2% will buy. That means approximately 98 from every 100 visitors you send will leave your site probably forever, empty handed.
An offer sent out to your list of loyal customers on the other hand will bring in many times that. Treat your list well and you can make thousands of dollars a month from a relatively small list of just a few thousand subscribers and be set for life.
This where the big money can be made with no more effort than sending out an email promotion once or twice a month promoting a product that is either your own or an affiliates.
Your list will become your most important asset, you can do joint ventures (jvs) as they are known with other list holders, you promote their product to your list after checking it out first.
Then they promote your product to their list and because both lists trust their owners, when you recommend their product to your list they will buy on your recommendation and vice versa on their list.
I hope this has explained why you see the phrase “the money is in the list” everywhere, it’s because it’s true, but what it really should say is the money is in your relationship with your list.

That is why ideally you should strive to create your own product as soon as you feel ready. Then you can sign up your own affiliates to send you visitors and build you a list, instead of you spending all your time trying to get traffic to affiliate sites and not building your own list, which will become your greatest asset.
That’s how the big marketers do it. You must have heard the phrase “the money is in the list” well it’s 100% true provided you give them quality information and build up a relationship with them.
If you do this then they will then trust you and buy from you time and time again. What you must not do is bombard your list with offer after offer without giving them anything in return as this will make them unsubscribe in their droves.
Some of the big marketers do this and rely on getting hundreds of new visitors a day on their list and burn them out with offer after offer over a few days or weeks until they unsubscribe.
This is not the way to build a sustainable business as you are constantly having to find a large number of new subscribers for your list. If you slowly build up your list and look after it, as I said your subscribers will buy from you time after time because they feel they know and trust you.
You don’t even need a very large list to make a good income, just a few hundred subscribers in the right niche can make you a good living.
Once you have your own list you can then promote, not just your own products but affiliate ones as well. You can also do joint ventures, where you do a deal with a fellow marketer in a similar niche and with a similar sized list and promote your products to their list and in return you do the same with your list.
You both get to sell products to customers you wouldn’t normally have access to and add them to your list, so it’s win win for both of you.
You can also contact other list owners and do what is known as an ad swap or list swap. This is very similar to a joint venture but you usually each give away something such as a short video or report to entice people from each others lists to give their email details in return for the freebie.
This allows both of you to add new subscribers to your lists for free. I hope this has explained why your own list is so important, I realise at this stage you might be thinking you could never have your own product, but it’s easier than you think.

How To Choose The Right Domain Name
Posted by: | CommentsHello and welcome back, Today as promised I want to talk to you about choosing a domain name the right way. Before we get started I want to explain to anyone who doesn’t know what a domain name is and why its important to choose the right one.
A domain name is for example google.com, or youtube.com.The main reason it’s important to choose the right one is to help get you ranked with google, hopefully on the first page so you can get free traffic to your site or offer.
Let’s say for example you are selling a product on keeping chickens. You need to think about what people will be typing into to the search engines to find the information they want.
You can use free tools to find this out and this is my favourite one, google adwords . You can sign up for a free account which I recommend as you get up to 800 search results if you sign up, as opposed to 100 if you don’t.
As you can see below these are the keyword phrases people are typing into the search engines to find information about keeping chickens. The first one shows us there are 18,100 global monthly searches for the phrase keeping chickens, which shows us there is a need for information in this niche and better still if you look in the competition column there is low competition for the keyword phrase.
Now armed with this information you want a domain name that ideally, matches the keyword phrase exactly, as google will position you near the top of their search engine because they like to show sites giving exactly the information that was typed in for the search.
Ideally if it were available, which I very much doubt you want the domain www.keepingchickens.com to help you rank highly in the search engines. Of course you can use either .net or .org if you can’t get .com but ideally you want .com.
You can of course try any other of the keyword phrases for the google adwords list above. Just make sure there are at least 3,000 global searches a month because it’s no use picking a domain name that nobody is searching for.
You would then go to a hosting site such as Dreamhost.com or Hostgator.com and check to see if the domain name is available and if it is register it for one year for roughly $10.

3 ways to get products that sell (part 1)
Posted by: | CommentsHello again, today I want to talk about getting a products you can make money with, ideally by creating your own. Oh no I hear you cry I can’t do that, well yes you can and it’s a lot easier than you think.
Its not only make money online type products that sell. There are thousands of niches out there you will never have thought of for you to exploit and you don’t need to have your own product although ultimately it is desirable.
I know what you are thinking I don’t know anything about anything, well you will be surprised if you stop and think, just what you do know. Just think about your hobbies and interests, your job, your family and friends hobbies interests and jobs.
I will bet out of just those few suggestions; if you really tried you could come up with something. All you need to do is, ideally find a subject that you either already know something about or would like to know more about to keep you interested.
Then using some research tools such as google adwords find out if there is a hungry market of buyers out there looking for that information and willing to spend money to get it. It’s no use creating a product for say students, to help them get out of debt, because students typically don’t have the money to spend on your product in the first place.
Assuming you have found a hungry market you then have three choices. Rebrand a PLR product, create a product of your own which is more desirable, or promote an affiliate product from somewhere like clickbank for example.
1) Promote an affiliate product
Although clickbank has some excellent products you can promote for up 70% commission you are working to send someone else traffic and build their list of customers not your own.
Really you should be looking to build your own list of customers as it is far easier to sell to someone who you have bought from you before and built a relationship with, than a complete stranger, hence the phrase I am sure you have heard everywhere “the monies in the list”.
2) Rebrand a PLR product
I know you are still thinking I can’t do this but you can buy a low cost PLR product which means by the way private label rights. With most of these products you need to read the small print to make sure you can rebrand it and put your name on it but it’s easy to do.
You can either sell them as is, but I wouldn’t recommend it because you will be competing with every one else selling the same product. You should change the title and see if you can improve on the original and you have your own unique product with hardly any work involved.
3) Create your own unique product
You can come up with your own niche product by as I said looking at your own life or your family or friends and using the experiences of them. For example let’s say you keep a few chickens and its amazing how many people do.
You then do the research using google adwords or wordtracker to check there are enough people searching for the keywords keeping chickens etc, more on this in the next blog as this is a subject in it’s self. Look out for part 2 of this blog coming in the next few days.
